Mike Pouncey had Surgery?
The Miami Dolphins were no stranger to injury throughout much of their 6-10 2015 campaign. From former Pro-Bowl defensive end Cameron Wake to offensive lineman Ja’Waun James, Miami’s ability to stay viable throughout a season has become increasingly problematic. As recently discovered during the 13th annual Jason Taylor Celebrity Golf Classic, one of the Dolphins key players recently had an undisclosed surgery.
In a recent interview with Greg Likens of The Finsider, Pro Bowl Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey revealed that his absence in the 2015 Pro-Bowl, in which 4 Dolphins players attended, was due to foot surgery he recently underwent. “When I turned it down, none of my guys had made the Pro Bowl yet. It was a tough decision for me, but I’m glad I did it.” Pouncey claimed during the interview that he would be ready for season start.
“It put me a month and a half ahead of my rehab. It’s been going really well. I’m glad I turned it down, so I could be ready by the time OTAs get here. I’m feeling really good.”
Pouncey, who missed 4 weeks of 2014 after undergoing hip surgery, has been a staple of the Dolphins offense since being drafted in 2011. The former University of Florida star grades among the best centers in the NFL, and his productively is crucial to the growth of Ryan Tannehill.
