Is the Dolphins’ record setting WR due for suspension in 2017?
According to Andy Slater of 940 WINZ, the league has now confirmed they are looking into Jarvis Landry’s alleged domestic violence accusation. They will be looking to determine whether he violated the league’s personal conduct policy.
Slater also stated, on slaterscoops.com, that the NFL is reportedly in possession of video of the incident.
The 24-year old former LSU star is the subject of multiple rumors, going into his final contract year.
As first reported by USA Today on Aug. 7th, Landry was being investigated by the authorities after a partial police report was filed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 1st. That report stated the wide receiver used his “hands, fist, feet, teeth” against his girlfriend.
The alleged victim Estrella Cerqueira, later stated via Instagram, “Jarvis, would never, ever do anything to harm me or anyone else”. She pleaded with the media to, “refrain from spreading this completely false story.”
Landry has recorded 288 passes for 3,051 yards and 13 touchdowns in his three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He is one of the team’s strongest leaders. Losing him for part of the 2017 season, would have a large effect on the team’s playoff chances this year.
Dolphins fans will just have to hold their breaths as we wait and see how this latest rumor plays out.
