Week 17 Injury Report: Patriots VS. Dolphins

A New Year brings with it opportunity. It brings with it hope, a blank slate, and most of all it brings with it a chance for change.  The Miami Dolphins, sitting at a lackluster 5-10, will use this New Year, this new opportunity, to rewrite their own book and strive to be the best team that they can be, the team we know they can be.

Despite all the bad that has happened this year for the Dolphins, the struggles on offense and defense, the coaching problems, the misalignment in philosophy amongst the management, the Dolphins know they have to put this all behind them, have a short memory, and focus on this next game at hand, against division rivals the New England Patriots.

Records, past performances, injured players, weather – none of that matters when playing divisional rivals. What matters is who wants it more, who’s going to fight for it harder, who’s going to go that extra mile just to gain that extra inch. Who’s got more heart?

On top of that, the Dolphins also have a chance to possibly play the role of spoiler and take away home field advantage throughout the playoffs from the Patriots. Couple that with the fact that players and coaches for the Dolphins are basically playing for future jobs, don’t expect the Dolphins to just roll over and let the Patriots walk all over them.

This game has all the makings to be a great battle between two division rivals who are both going to come out hard and battle hard all game long, despite it being for different reasons.

There are, of course, injuries on both teams that will have an impact on the game one way or another, but as mentioned, this game is going to come down to who wants it more, and which team will play at the higher intensity level for the full 60 minutes.
